1. We can’t afford NOT to join!
Becoming a member is an investment that will create great reward for Israel, the United States, and for Christians and Jews everywhere.
2. We are all impacted by politics
- We are all impacted by politics, whether we like it or not, so we should try to impact politics first. Moses, Nehemiah, Daniel, John the Baptist, Paul the Apostle, and even Jesus himself got involved. It is our Christian duty to be a good citizen and contribute to our nation’s well being, both spiritually and materially.
- The truth is, if you are a citizen then you are part of a system of laws. Thus, you are obliged to obey such laws, or engage in activities to change them if such laws are un-Biblical, or which may deprive us of the Freedoms we hold sacred.
- Bernard Crick argued that "politics is a distinctive form of rule whereby people act together through institutionalized procedures to resolve differences, to conciliate diverse interests and values and to make public policies in the pursuit of common purposes."
3. Freedom of Speech at stake
True, preaching the gospel must be the priority, but without Freedom of Speech and Religion, the liberty to spread the Gospel will be greatly hindered.
4. We are the Salt of the Earth
There has always been corruption in high places, but we are the salt of the earth and with God’s help we can see wickedness overturned. Romans 12:19-21 “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. [20] Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. [21] Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”
5. Redeeming the Time
We are to “redeem the time for the days are evil”. Consider Matthew 24:43-46 “But know this, that if the good man of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.”
6. With God’s help we can affect change
- Do you forget the power of God? He has done it many times before through many people- Joseph affected the King of Egypt; Moses affected the government of Egypt; Esther affected the King of Persia; Daniel affected the government of Persia; Paul affected the authorities in Jerusalem and ultimately appealed to Caesar, and then affected Caesar’s household.
- If men like John the Baptist were willing to die in their efforts to affect kings and governors, we should be willing to try and impact our political leaders as well!
7. Lets get Bible Believing Baptist elected
"All Politicians are corrupt" is a myth and an excuse not to fulfill our obligation as responsible citizens. There have been thousands of Baptists who not only participated in politics but were greatly used by God to influence the laws of the land.
8. Its takes time and money to affect change
- Surely does! These things take time and money to effect change, which is a Bible principle: Ecclesiastes 11:6 “In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.”
- Time will pass, so what will we do with the time we have? “You may delay, but time will not.” Benjamin Franklin
9. We must continue to give billions of dollars a year to help Israel
- By doing nothing we are guilty of aiding the enemies of Israel. There is no doubt that God raised up the United States to help establish the modern State of Israel in 1948, and to aid her ever since.
- God uses people and nations to bless and protect Israel, and we are one of Israel’s few allies. A Friend must show himself friendly – we are Friends to Israel, so let us not commit the sin of silence.
10 Baptist have done great things together historically
- Because of our independence, sometimes it has driven us into isolationism, but isolationism is not the answer- Unity is Psalm 133:1 “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” We have a worthy cause to band together. Throughout history, and especially at times of great trials, Baptists have united for the common good. We cannot be pessimistic! We must rise up to the occasion and fight together for things that matter most.
- Collectively, we can do more for the cause of Christ and for the cause of Righteousness. Ecclesiastes 4:12 “And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
- “We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.” Benjamin Franklin
11 There are many benefits to joining
- Its not what we can get out of it, but what we can put into it. That should our hearts desire for Israel’s sake. Jesus is our example: Matthew 20:28 “Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” Philippians 2:4-5 “Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”
- Nevertheless, there is much in it for you! Just to name a few benefits: 1. You will no doubt be blessed by blessing the Jewish people. 2. You will be pleasing the Lord. 3. You will get reward in Heaven one day if you have a selfless attitude. 4. You will be receiving a quarterly magazine and news alerts. 5. You will be able to attend the BZPAC National Conference for free. 6. You will be having a voice on the national scene on behalf of Israel. 7. As BZPAC grows, more benefits will surface.
12. Let’s put feet to our prayers
- Sincere prayer is needed, but there are times that prayer is simply an excuse not to get involved. Since there are already many verses in the Bible mandating our support and defense of Israel, there is nothing to really pray about except to pray that God will enable us to do more than we are already doing for the cause!!
- There is absolutely no legitimate reason why the Lord would not have us to join BZPAC. There is not another organization which would accomplish the same things and have the same Biblical stand and doctrine as BZPAC
- $12 per month is not much to ask, to give up one meal a month for the Jew. After all, it is the Jewish people who have given up their lives so we could have the Scriptures, Saviour, and Salvation, not to mention the thousands of inventions they have contributed to the well being of this world.
- When it comes to indebtedness, we are surely debtors to the Jew. Romans 15:27 “…and their (as Gentiles) debtors they are ( to the Jews). For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their (the Jews) spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them ( the Jews) in carnal things.” Simply put- we owe them.
